Katarzyna Jankowiak-Gumna

Born in 1962. A Graduate of Adam Mickiewicz University and Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. Since 1992 she has run ABC Gallery (a gallery of modern art) in Poznań. Curator of over 150 individual and group exhibitions both in ABC Gallery and other exhibition centers (among others in National Museums in Cracow, Gdańsk and Poznań, Krzysztofory Gallery in Cracow, Zachęta – National Art Gallery in Warsaw, State Art Gallery in Sopot, BWA in Bydgoszcz). Author of publications concerning contemporary art. Author of the series of 26 documentary films “Art of Seeing” about the collections of different museums in Poznań and Wielkopolska, and co-author of the documentary film “Dziewica Orleańska wg. Jana Matejki” [“The Virgin of Orlean according to Jan Matejko”] (directed by Janusz Sidor). K. Jankowiak-Gumna is one of the founders and contributors of The Foundation of European Art, which organizes many significant cultural events, among others Enter Music Festival. Author of the long-term project “Visual Park” (sculpture and object park) which is realized in the park on The Strzeszyńskie Lake in Poznań. Curator and coordinator of a cycle of Artists and Theoretitians Symposium Summer Jam.
